We are quickly approaching the new year 5782, a year where Shmitah will be celebrated and observed for the first time in recent memory, in the majority of farmland in Artzeinu HaKedosha! This is becoming a possibility only because of the remarkable efforts of Keren HaSheviis, who are attempting to raise nearly seventy million dollars, to help alleviate the financial burden of the farmers who leave their land fallow, providing them the funds to survive. I have recently visited with a farmer who for the first time will be observing Shmitah fully and I can testify to his deeply moving display of faith and expressed joy for the opportunity to fulfill this great mitzvah. Please join the Ohel Moshe family in partnering with a farm in sponsoring the keeping of Shmitah k’halacha in Eretz Yisroel, and in the process everyone will acquire the zechus and bracha of observing Shmitah k’halacha themselves. Our Kehilla name will be inscribed on a sign at the farm. Visit Eretz Yisroel during shmitah and take a tour of our farm.
