Kehillas Ohr Yisrael of Baltimore

In anticipation of the upcoming year of Shemitta 5782, Kehillas Ohr Yisrael is proud to join the thousands of Klal Yisrael in helping our fellow brethren keep shemitta k'hilchasa in Eretz Yisrael and give the land the long awaited rest it so desperately needs.

This will be the first time since the days of the Bais Hamikdash that the majority of Eretz Yisrael will remain fallow, and the burden rests on our shoulders collectively. Over 66 million dollars is needed to make this project a reality and we are honored to be able to help out by sponsoring a farm of our own.   

All contributions above $1200 (e.g. $100/month), will give the Participant / Family a halachic and legal partnership in 1000 sq. feet of the farm for the year of shmittah, and receive a personalized certificate with the Participant / Family name and the name of the Farmer, attesting to the partnership. Each partnership can be divided between four people or less (i.e. each participant contributes $400). Any and all contributions less than that is still most definitely welcomed and encouraged, as every dollar counts towards our goal of sponsoring the farm.    

Our Kehilla name will be inscribed on a sign at the farm, so if you're planning a visit to Eretz Yisroel during shmittah make sure you pencil a trip to our farm in your itinerary!
